Syllabus

Dear Parents:
I am delighted to have your child/student in my history class this year.  My goal for your child is to succeed in my class.  I am asking your help in ensuring that your child has a successful year. Below you will find classroom expectations, material list, and parent contact form for this 2015-2016 United States History course.  Please take some time to read through these with your student.
Please feel free to contact me often whether it is via phone or email.  Though I will be unable to speak during class times, I am available by appointment before or after school.  To set up a conference, please call and schedule.  I will be pleased to answer any questions or concerns that may arise throughout the school year.
Thank you and I look forward to working with you and your student this school year!
Sincerely,

Mr. Mazella

Classroom Procedures
Entering the Classroom
Enter the classroom quietly, pick up your three ring binder, and be in your assigned seat by the time the bell rings. Get to work on the bell ringer activity and wait for further instructions when you are finished
Using Supplies
You are expected to have all necessary supplies with you in class everyday. This includes your three ring binder, writing utensils, colored pencils, glue, and anything else you might need. All supplies intended for student use will be found in the area marked “Student Supplies”
Make Up Work
It is expected that you will make an effort to come to class each and everyday. If you are absent for any reason, it is your responsibility to get any notes, assignments, notebook work, or handouts you might have missed. All handouts can be found in the “make up folders” in the classroom trays. Students will be given the number of days they were absent plus one extra day to complete make up assignments.
Ending Class
The teacher, not the bell, dismisses class. You should not pack up and get ready to leave until the bell is ringing. Students may not stand around the door at any time.
